Me and my friend Jamie are very interested in technology so our IT teacher decided My friend Jamie and I should make lesson plans for years 3, 4 and 5 to code different robots using a little BBC micro:bit as the brain. So, when we set about this, we spent 3 weeks making a made a 50-slide slideshow on how to: Define and call functions, use the built-in radio function, use the built-in LED function and the external kitronik simple servo library. Then we taught the learners how to apply this knowledge to the coding of the micro:bit. All of these will help create the learners robot unicorn or milk carton monster. The end goal of all of this was to teach a greater understanding of how computers work and tackle tasks. I recognise this as imperative to any understanding of code as you need to know how the computer will go about reading the code and executing it before you can write it. When we showed this to our teacher he absolutely loved it. And so did all the teachers he showed it to.
